WHO WE ARERusticus Garden Club is a community of gardeners in Bedford and the surrounding Northern Westchester towns, united by a love of horticulture, floral design, and the natural landscape. Founded in 1939, we are proud members of the Garden Club of America. Our members don't just admire gardens; they tend their own, and build lasting friendships doing it.

WHAT WE DORusticus puts its mission into action through civic garden restorations, conservation grants, and scholarships for students pursuing horticulture and environmental studies. Members maintain public gardens like the historic Terrace Garden at John Jay Homestead and fund grants supporting local land trusts and sustainability projects.

OUR HISTORYSince 1939, Rusticus has stood for the idea that gardening and civic life go hand in hand. What began with twenty charter members has grown into an 87-year legacy of restored gardens, wartime victory gardens, and community partnerships across Northern Westchester.
